Flammable. Avoid inhalation of smoke and fumes. Firefighters wear SCBA. NFPA # 2-3-1.

HEALTH HAZARDS
Liquid and vapors irritating to eyes and nasal passages. Moderately toxic by inhalation or ingestion. Toxic intravenously. LD50 (oral-rat) xylene 5000 mg/kg LD50 (oral-rat) butanol 790 mg/kg. Formamide has reproductive effects and is considered an embryotoxin. Pregnant women should avoid all contact. OSHA PEL/ACGIH TLV: TWA 100 ppm (xylene); OSHA PEL 100 ppm (1- butanol); ACGIH TLV: ceiling 50 ppm (skin)(Butanol); ACGIH TLV: TWA 10 ppm (skin)(formamide); OSHA PEL:TWA 10 ppm (formamide). No evidence of carcinogenicity.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

Keep away from ignition sources. Use only with good ventilation or suitable respirator. Wear goggles and rubber gloves while handling.

FIRST AID

Wash contact area thoroughly with water. If swallowed, give water or milk and induce vomiting. Call a physician. For inhalation, remove to fresh air; if breathing is difficult, give oxygen, give artificial respiration as necessary. Call a physician. DO NOT GIVE ANYTHING BY MOUTH TO AN UNCONSCIOUS PERSON.

SPILLS & LEAKS

Contain spill, ventilate area well. Remove sources of ignition. Take up in absorbent material and collect for disposal to incinerator or flammable hazardous waste.
