APPEARANCE & ODOR
Brown liquid with strong sulfur dioxide and
iodine odor.

REACTIVITY & CONDITIONS TO AVOID
Stable. Avoid oxidizers, ignition sources, heat.
Incompatible with water.

FIRE HAZARDS

Will release toxic compounds when burning. Wear
self-contained breathing apparatus and protective
clothing.

HEALTH HAZARDS
Toxic by ingestion or inhalation. Causes lethargy,
headache, gastrointestinal upset, anemia, damage to
CNS, kidney, liver and testes. Principal routes of
absorption: dermal, inhalation, oral. Repeated
exposure can have cumulative effect. Not known to
be carcinogenic. OSHA PEL 25ppm, TLV 5ppm (2-methoxyethanol); PEL 5ppm, TWA 2ppm, STEL 5ppm
(sulfur dioxide); PEL 0.1ppm, TLV 0.1ppm (iodine).
Experimental mutagenic, teratogenic and reproductive effects. Methoxyethanol is on California prop 65 list.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

Goggles and rubber gloves must be worn. Use in
well ventilated hood. Store at room temperature
(15-30C). Keep containers tightly closed.

FIRST AID

Wash skin and eyes thoroughly with water for at
least 15 minutes. I
f irritation presists call
physician. Inhalation; remove to fresh air, call
physician. If swallowed, give milk or water and
induce vomiting, if conscious. Get medical assistance.

SPILLS & LEAKS

Eliminate ignition sources, neutralize with soda
ash or take up with absorbent. Dispose in accordance
to all local, state, and federal regulations.
