PHYSICAL DATA
Boiling point 65C (methanol); water miscible.

APPEARANCE & ODOR
Brown liquid. Odor of pyridine.

REACTIVITY & CONDITIONS TO AVOID
Stable. No hazardous self-reactivity. Incompatible with
oxidizers.

FIRE HAZARDS
Flammable. Ignites readily. Emission of NOX, SOX, and iodine
fumes in addition to sooty smoke. Firefighters wear SCBA.

HEALTH HAZARDS
Irritating and corrosive to skin, eyes and mucous membranes.
Consider toxic all routes. LD50 (oral-rat) 5628 mg/kg
(methanol) LD50 (oral-rat) 891 mg/kg (pyridine),
OSHA PEL/ACGIH TLV: TWA: 200 ppm (pyridine); OSHA PEL/ACGIH
TLV: TWA: 5 ppm (pyridine). Exposure symptoms: dizziness,
headaches, nausea,, nasal irritation, intoxication,
unconsciousness. Fatal dose may be <50ml. Mutagenic
data. Experimental teratogen, reproductive effects.
Warning: This produce containes a chemical (2-methoxyethanol)
known to the state of California to cause birth defects or
other reproductive harm. No evidence of carcinogenicity.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

Goggles and rubber gloves must be worn. Eye wash nearby.
Use only with Adequate ventilation or suitable respirator
to avoid resperation.

FIRST AID

Wash contact area thoroughly with water. For eyes, get medical
attention. I
f swallowed, give water or milk nad induce vomiting.
Get medical attention. Inhalation; remove to fresh air. Give
oxygen if breathing difficult, rrespirationmas necessary. Get
medical assistance.

SPILLS & LEAKS

Contain spill. Remove sources of ignition. Take up spill
in absorbent and sweep.
Disposal to hazardous waste only.
