Photovolt's American-made Model 577-A and 577 are designed to simplify the determination of appearance characteristics. This rugged portable instrument is easy to operate, sets up in just minutes and provides you with unparalleled flexibility. Now available with serial data port option. The 577-A is the latest verion of the 577. The 577 will be continued to be offered to those users who must use the 577 according to their protocol.
Compared to the 577 the 577-A is identical , but has

- External power supply
- Can be purchased in a stainless steel configuration for corrosive atmospheres
Eventually the 577 will be phased out. The search units for the 577 and 577-A are unique and NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. Be sure to order the correct search unit for your instrument.
You can read percent reflectance directly from a sample by using any one of Photovolt's standard "search unit" packages. With the Models 577-A or 577 it becomes easy to measure color, opacity, hiding power, brightness and tristimulus reflectances.
With just the touch of a button the Model 577 will automatically reconfigure
itself for changes in search unit filters. Naturally, the Model 577
has applications that conform to ASTM, TAPPI, and ISO standards.
NEW!
Serial data port option sends the current reading to your PC with
a touch of a button on the side of the search unit. The included PortKey™
software takes the reading and inserts it in ANY Microsoft Windows™
program as though it was typed in from the keyboard. No programming
is needed and it works with all Windows programs including spreadsheets
and word processors.
Other features include easy-to-read LED display with a handy "hold"
function, durable solid state construction and a calibration reflectance
memory for up to three tristimulus or colored glass filters.

Photovolt
offers three highly accurate search units allowing the precise measurement
of a great variety of appearance characteristics when used in conjunction
with the Photovolt Model 577 or 577-A.
SEARCH
UNITS "Y" OR "T" use filter sets that measure surface
color reflectance, paper opacity or hiding power.
SEARCH
UNIT "W" is designed to measure paper brightness. |
